Asian Handicap Runline Calculator

Use this free Asian Handicap Runline Calculator to convert baseball moneyline and runline odds into a combined risk amount, win amount, and effective American odds. For a longer explanation of the traditional -1 runline bet, see how to calculate a -1 runline bet in MLB.

The tool is designed for split runline positions such as -0.75, -1.25, +0.75, and +1.25, where part of the wager behaves like a moneyline bet and part behaves like a traditional baseball runline bet.

How to use this calculator

Select the Asian handicap, enter the moneyline and matching runline odds, then choose either a risk amount or a target win amount. The calculator shows the runline stake, moneyline stake, total risk, target win, and effective American odds.

  • Negative handicaps use favorite-side moneyline plus minus runline odds.
  • Positive handicaps use underdog-side moneyline plus plus runline odds.
  • The formulas were converted from the final PCG spreadsheet version.

What Is an Asian Handicap Runline Calculator?

An Asian handicap runline calculator helps convert split baseball runline positions into clearer betting terms. Instead of treating a wager as only a moneyline bet or only a -1.5 / +1.5 runline bet, the calculator breaks the position into the proper moneyline and runline portions.

This is useful when comparing alternate baseball lines, synthetic runline prices, or handicap-style baseball bets where the final position is made up of two connected wagers.

How to Use the Calculator

Start by selecting the Asian handicap number you want to calculate. Then enter the moneyline odds, the matching runline odds, and either the amount you want to risk or the amount you want to win.

The calculator will return the required runline risk, moneyline risk, total risk, win amount, and effective American odds for the combined position.

Supported Asian Handicap Runline Options

This calculator supports the following baseball Asian handicap / runline options:

  • -0.75
  • -1.00
  • -1.25
  • -1.75
  • -2.25
  • +0.75
  • +1.00
  • +1.25
  • +1.75
  • +2.25

Negative handicap numbers are generally used for favorite-side positions. Positive handicap numbers are generally used for underdog-side positions.

Example: Converting a Baseball Runline Position

For example, a -0.75 baseball position can be thought of as a split between the moneyline and the -1.5 runline. A +0.75 position can be thought of as a split between the moneyline and the +1.5 runline.

The purpose of the calculator is to show how much of the wager belongs on each side of that split and what the combined position equals in effective American odds.

Why Bettors Use Split Runline Positions

Baseball bettors may use split runline positions when they want a price between the moneyline and the standard runline. This can make it easier to compare prices across sportsbooks, evaluate whether a runline price is playable, or understand how much risk is attached to a partial moneyline / partial runline position.

These calculations can also help when evaluating whether the extra payout from a runline is worth the added risk compared to the moneyline. For broader market context, see How Sports Betting Markets Work, which explains line movement, sharp money, pricing, timing, and market signals.

Runline Math vs Market Signals

This calculator is a math tool. It helps you understand the structure of a split runline position, but it does not tell you whether the bet has value.

To compare runline pricing with current market movement, use the Sharp Money Tracker. That tool tracks betting splits, line movement, reverse line movement, and handle-vs-bet imbalances across the current MLB board.

For a deeper research process, members can compare prices against ProComputerGambler Raw Numbers, which are designed to provide daily market reference data and projections.

Important Notes

This calculator is intended as a betting math tool. It does not predict which side will win, whether a line has value, or whether a bet should be placed.

Always double-check the odds you enter, especially when comparing moneyline prices and runline prices from different sportsbooks. Small changes in price can meaningfully change the effective odds of the combined position.
